This pattern is for a Victorian ‘Walking Gown’ from the 1870’s and originally advertised in Harper’s Bazaar magazine. The gown consists of a fitted sleeveless knee-length dress with a scalloped hem over a full skirt. The jacket is fitted to the waist and spreads out into an attached peplum and can be made with or without the ruffled trim edging. The jacket sleeves are three-quarter length with graduated length semi-circle lower sleeve. The sleeves can be added to the dress and used without the jacket.
